A change of heart

Hello faithful bloggers , you have seen me and have been with me on my painting journies . I've travelled and painted ¨plein air ¨ now for the last twenty years or so . Painting landscapes for me was a passion . I travelled the province for subjects to paint  . But now , I have reached a certain point in my life where I do not feel that passion anymore . There is no joy in painting anymore . I've decided to try something new . I changed my way of painting completly . I am now working in abstract painting . I love it . It was hard for me at first but now I find it fascinating . I can let go and concentrating on painting and not bother with the subjet , the composition , the harmony . Well I still have to worry about the harmony and the basic feel for the painting but it's more in the overall aspect of it . I do not say that I will never return to realistic painting but for now , I am content with what I am doing . I thank you for your support and I will put a link of my new blog on my home page .Thank you .

Publishing the book ¨La Rivière-des-Mille-iles et ses rives ¨

I've started this collection of paintings , like I said , about three years ago. My goal was mainly to build a collection so that I could exhibit my work . I said to myself , what can I do that would be more meaningfull and more of a chalenge .I said , what if I write a book . Starting from the paintings I did , I added photographes and wrote about sixty pages in all . There is alot of work for me to do in order to make this book readable but I'm quite satisfied with the results.I'M happy because this exhibit will help me promote my futur book and maybe get the support I need and get the municipalites involved in this project .

Laurentian splendor

It's been quite windy outside for the last several days now and
that made it almost impossible to paint . I remembered having
sketched a few interesting scenes while I was walking along the
trails earlier , here in the Bellerivière area . About trenty minutes
from home . So I decided to paint a little 9 x 12" oil painting
from a sketch I had .

recent paintings

Here are a few paintings I've did this week . they were
all painted from a walking distance from my home . The
reason being that I had a problem with my car and they
had to tow it to the garage . It was too old to repare it so
I sent it to the scrap yard . So now , I'm without a car but
in a way I'll get to walk more often and stay in shape .
